If you are new to DEOG, Renee Bell, Hudson Bell, and Cindy Wood Brochu are the contact people for DEOG. We began DEOG back in 2005 to create an Association that works for the Program Owners and Instructors to make Georgia’s roadways a safer place to travel.

The 2023 DEOG Defensive Driving curriculum is finally ready. You asked for an easier-to-use platform that did not require other equipment. This updated curriculum provides you with the latest information, strategies, and tools to ensure you deliver high-quality instructions to your students.

Defensive driving instructors have a crucial role in promoting safety on our roadways. This is our opportunity to teach basic driving skills and information needed to be safe drivers. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and interactive.

We know some instructors have years of experience while others are new and will need assistance with timing. Familiarize yourself with the curriculum, as the images, prompts, and timing are essential components that require attention. It is important to adhere to the curriculum outline to cover the material adequately to ensure the students pass the final exam with a grade of 70% or greater. You may adjust the pace and customize the curriculum based on your students’ needs.

The manual includes the Final Exam, Answer Sheet Key, and Instructor Evaluations. The videos are embedded, eliminating the need for a DVD/VCR player to make your teaching experience more enjoyable.
